"10 years of the new Bellevue"
The »new« Bellevue era began in December 1992 with a major blaze, previously unseen in Bad Gastein: the historical noble hotel Bellevue, owned at that time by the hotelier, Josef Wührer, was burned to the ground. This stalled the on-going sale negociations, however the sale was finalised some months later.
After a year and a half of rebuilding, the MONDI-HOLIDAY Bellevue was reopened in 1996 - praised as a successful project of such magnitude by experts of the field. The five buildings of the holiday complex house 208 comfortably furnished apartments, designed in a modern interpretation of the "Biedermeier" style.
Over the past ten years the »new« Bellevue has tallied over a million overnight stays, about 150.000 check-ins and check-outs. During the 2004/2005 season at least 20 percent of all bookings in Gastein were of 4 star quality in Bellevue. Correspondingly, the tourist tax income for the local authority is considerable: around 11% of the total tourist tax takings come from Bellevue alone.
The Bellevue is part of an international holiday exchange systems; a system which has brought guests from 50 nations to Bad Gastein. Around 100 employees take care of the guests from all over the globe, a third of the staff team has been in the employ of Bellevue for the past ten years!
»The hotel complex with its central location is exemplary and is one of our leading businesses.«, says Bad Gasteins Bürgermeister, Gerhard Steinbauer, on the occasion of the anniversary. »A real Phoenix from the ashes. A positive impulse for the region«.
Today the Bellevue is run by the Dörr family from Munich, under the umbrella of MONDI-HOLIDAY.
The10 year Bellevue anniversary will be celebrated on 30. July 30, 2006 in the Merangarten in Bad Gastein with a varied programme – the local population is welcome to attend!
