Cross country skiing is fun! And, this is a healthy form of exercise for people of all ages. Gastein is a paradise for cross country skiers with over 90 kilometres of well-prepared tracks. Go off-trail and discover the local beauty spots in our winter sport region! In Sportgastein cross country skiing is possible in spring too, thanks to the track at 1.600 metres above sea level. Enjoy a round of evening sport on the flood-lit track in Bad Gastein-Böckstein.

Ever tried Nordic Cruising?
Nordic Cruising combines classic cross country skiing with elements of running and Nordic walking. The short cruising skis have a wider "footprint", giving more stability and making gliding and climbing slight inclines easier in the untouched backcountry. Explore the Gastein winter countryside in this new way!
NEW: "Fun in your sights" - Biathlon in Gastein
The newly erected biathlon area is supervised and maintained by the Gastein Cross Country Sport School and is situated right next to the track in Böckstein. There isn't required any previous experience for the "Biathlon taster course".
